Messageboard for Helping New Orleans Musicians On the Road

The New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund, Inc. has posted a messageboard (www.nomrf.org) for those who have room for musicians out on the road or in shelters. No one knows what Hurricane Gustav will do. Before heading out of town, NOMRF passed along an evacuation car to a brass band drummer whose first donated car was stolen last year. When we get back to New Orleans, a Pearl River grand piano is going to a music teacher who lost hers in Katrina. She asked the company to hold her new piano as she couldn't take a chance on losing a second one. This week, our charity will also donate a grand piano to a New Orleans musician now living in Chicago.

There are many ways to help musicians out on the road: If you're a community organizer, plan a benefit; If you're a musician, donate i-tunes proceeds from your song - especially if it's about lending a helping hand. We only receive help from individuals, so any amount will make a difference.

Please keep New Orleans in your heart as we all hope for the best and prepare for the worst..

The New Orleans 100 list
is released!

We've been showered with support and encouragement from people all over the world. It's been an inspirational experience and we hope that you can share and take part with us!

"The New Orleans 100" is a worldwide initiative that will highlight and encourage discussion among millions about 100 of the most innovative and world-changing ideas to take root in the city since Katrina. Our goal is to reach 1,000,000 pageviews and we encourage everyone to spread the word by emailing the list, blogging the list, digging it, stumbling it, and yelling it out their windows!

You can make a difference. All it takes is a click.

To view the list, please visit http://www.alldaybuffet.org/neworleans100

Psychodrama Music Group
Announces New Signing
3/5/07

Psychodrama Music Group, the worldwide multi-platform music company responsible for the success of hard rock sensations Dry Kill Logic has announced its intentions to expand its management roster with the signing of acclaimed singer/songwriter Kobie Jackson. ‘Kobie has a penchant for songwriting and lyrical content rarely seen in todays’ music landscape, and it is our intention to build and develop his career in a way that centers around a long-term vision and a commitment to his artistic integrity’ states PMG CEO Cliff Rigano. ‘Too often, new artists are subjected to the insanity of an industry that cannot see the forest for the trees, and it is our intention to focus our efforts on develop a career for Kobie worthy of such a tremendous talent – from releasing his own albums to licensing and placing his songs to writing music for others, the sky is truly the limit and we are excited to be working with him’.

Kobie’s career is one that stands the test of time; his story begins in 2000, as the touring bass player for Island/Def Jam artist Primer 55. After cutting his teeth in the industry and touring the country for 13 months, Kobie came home with a hunger to write his own material and began to lay the foundation for his career as a singer/songwriter. He founded the heralded rock band Alston, and released the acts first album, ‘Voodoo for Fun and Profit’ in late 2004 via Repossession Records. A hunger for the stage and relentless work on the road saw the act criss-cross the country multiple times in support of the release, touring with acts such as Adema, Hed PE, Pygmy Love Circus and many others. At the same time, Kobie’s gift for songwriting was recognized across the board in the music industry when he won the ASCAP Songwriter of the Year award in 2005 for Alston’s radio hit ‘Ordinary’. After touring through the albums’ life cycle, making friends and fans everywhere he went and crossing multiple musical platforms along the way, Kobie came home in 2006 with his musical vision for the future clearer than ever.

Currently in the studio recording, Kobie’s solo material is due late spring/early summer via Psychodrama’s Music Division. Samples of Kobie’s music can be found his newly launched personal Myspace page www.myspace.com/kobiejackson
and on the Alston Myspace page www.myspace.com/alston.
